Kanata, ON, Canada – February 1, 1996
KOM Networks
has announced that its OptiFile connectivity solution has been enhanced to support the Panasonic PD/CD_ROM drive (internal model LF-1004AB and external model LF-1000AB).

"OptiFile PD/CD is the first device driver for the PD Drive for UNIX and VMS environments which provides transparent and random access to the customer's CDs with reading and writing capabilities to the PD 650MB rewritable optical disks," said Marwan Zayed KOM's General Manager. "The applications that can benefit from Panasonic's low cost optical storage are limitless," he added.

With KOM Networks OptiServer, Panasonic's new series of PD jukeboxes will also be supported in a very short time and could give all customers one stop shopping for CD_ROM, rewritable optical jukeboxes and software connectivity for the Windows-NT, VMS and UNIX platforms.
