Information is gathered and archived from the client nodes by the OptiLogger® AVCON server. Each individual client node can gather up to 64 channel streams. Data is archived to one or more Server Systems over a high speed LAN connection. The server automatically migrates data to high capacity, secure Optical Disk Jukeboxes. A cache is utilized to provide high-speed access while archiving or retrieving data. The cache can be an IDE, RAID, or a SCSI partition. Server "Channels" improve quality of service and keep related data on the same media. The collector nodes have the ability to attach descriptors to the captured data. These descriptors are stored and can be used to retrieve captured data. Playback nodes can query these descriptors to locate items on the server for play-back.
