KOM Networks and Nishan Systems Form Technical Partnership

Palm Desert CA, USA - April 09, 2001
KOM Networks and Nishan Systems today announced that they have signed a technical agreement to work together with their complementary technologies, KOM Networks' leading storage virtualization software, KOMworx®, and Nishan's IPS 3000 Series of storage switches, to provide a total storage virtualization solution for hardware and software.

The KOMworx® enterprise-wide storage management product allows organizations to integrate multiple data storage devices, media, software applications and hardware components seamlessly across an entire network into one homogeneous virtual storage space.

The IPS 3000 Series allows organizations to deploy a robust, high-speed storage network using readily available Gigabit Ethernet and IP network infrastructure products. Using Storage over IP™ technology (SoIP™), the IPS 3000 Series transparently connects native Fibre Channel hosts and devices to an IP SAN.

"This strategic alliance with Nishan Systems provides the customers of both companies with continued access to the best available technology in storage virtualization. Used together, these technologies will deliver higher levels of data integrity, accessibility, and manageability," said KOM Networks President Jeffrey Dale. "KOMworx® acts in a complementary fashion with Nishan's IP storage products and together they provide a total storage virtualization solution."

"We are pleased to be entering into this alliance with KOM Networks, in the rapidly expanding field of storage virtualization," said Randy Fardal, vice president of marketing at Nishan Systems. "It is an excellent way for our companies to work together and to expand our relationship over time."

The market for storage networking products is expected to exceed $2 billion over the next two years, according to IDC.
