KOM Networks, a leading innovator of storage virtualization and data management software, today announced that it has signed a partnership agreement with Government Micro Resources (GMR). GMR is a rapidly growing network integrator and applications developer offering a portfolio of large-scale open systems and client/server solutions. The companies plan to focus their sales and marketing initiatives on providing state-of-the-art, end-to-end storage management solutions while specifically targeting GMR's high profile government clients.
KOM Networks software solutions will be aggressively promoted and sold by GMR, with an emphasis on technical deployment and marketing initiatives aimed at implementing KOM's versatile suite of products. By building the most innovative and comprehensive mass storage solutions, the two companies will further entrench themselves into the ever growing and lucrative government contract market. In particular, KOM plans on working closely with GMR as a subcontractor for the recently awarded SEWP III contracts. SEWP III is a full and open procurement vehicle with a maximum ceiling of four billion dollars awarded by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). GMR has also established U.S. government contracts with the Department of Defense (DOD), the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Department of Labor (DOL), NASA, the U.S. Navy and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). In addition, GMR holds a GSA Information Technology Schedule and has a National BPA.
"One of our key corporate objectives is to continue to build and develop our partner channels," commented KOM Networks C.E.O. Dr. Taher Shaath. "Our partnership with an industry leader such as GMR is consistent with our expansion strategy and helps solidify KOM Networks' position in a strategic vertical market – the government.
"The government contract market can be very demanding but also very rewarding," explained Steve Thomason, Business Development Manager of Enterprise Storage Solutions at GMR. "That's why we must respond to the faith our government clients have shown in us by providing them with the best, safest and most complete hardware and software solutions. We do considerable business with the U.S. government and have been entrusted with managing and archiving very critical and sensitive information. The bottom line is we have to align ourselves with partners like KOM Networks that advance our ability to meet the stringent demands of such customers. I believe that KOM has been able to get a jump on the competition with its latest storage virtualization software that integrates seamlessly into any network environment."
